The ifitness team will be introducing all the Mr World Singapore 2022 contestants in batches. In this first part of the interview, we peeked more into the lives of three contestants: Mohammad Hairul, Amit Sharma and Clement Tan

Mohammad Hairul Age: 37 Height: 170 cm Weight: 74.5 kg Occupation: Personal Trainer Instagram: instagram.com/ballfightgymluv

When Hairul was 15, he was diagnosed with ADHD. He had very short attention span and was always bored of doing the same things. The fact that he could not sit still probably explains his passion for sports. Since his youth, Hairul did well in any sport he set his mind to, such as ball sports, athletics and martial arts.

However, his bad temper got the best of him during many competitive events and landed him in a lot of trouble throughout his teenage years and even adulthood. He was easily agitated and irritated. That made me lose friends as well as jobs. But it all changed when he started to do mixed martial arts which teaches self-restraint and patience, discipline and endurance.

All of those skills he had translated and applied in real life. He presently manages a TikTok page with 4k followers and still growing. He posts motivational stuff and quotes that are original. All the ideas in his content were birthed by his life experiences.

Today, his life is “kind of peaceful”. He does not get into fights anymore and neither does he lose his temper. He believes that time changes people. One thing that he finds to be interesting is how he can be very critical in thinking and can get very deep at times which he finds rare in an era of instant gratitude. He looks forward to giving his best in this competition to grow better with each day.

Clement Tan Age: 32 Height: 176 cm Weight: 68 kg Occupation: Registered Nurse

Instagram: instagram.com/clemfitbabe

Clement describes himself as a fitness enthusiast, dedicated to spreading awareness of keeping fit and staying healthy. He thinks that apart from physically looking fit and healthy, mental health is also very important. He is an optimist, a bubbly and outgoing person who always sees the good in everything. He thinks all these stem from his past of being both an overweight child and then being a severely underweight teen. His relationship with food was problematic and he came out of that darkness.

He thinks that his greatest achievement in life was obtaining a scholarship from the Ministry of Health and completing his University Degree at NUS in nursing, and now being a nurse who has touched many lives in his years of profession. He decided to join Mr World Singapore in the hopes of using the platform to spread a positive mindset and send a fitness inspiration message. He has many colleagues who always complain they are too tired to go to the gym after their shifts, but he is equally exhausted. So if he does not give up, they shouldn't either.

He hopes that if he can become a public figure or media personality, he can influence and motivate more people to keep themselves fit and healthy.
