Clock Up Steps while Reconnecting with Loved Ones As Skechers Friendship Walk Returns This August!

Organised by sports and lifestyle brand SKECHERS for the fourth year running, the Skechers Friendship Walk 2021 Online Edition is back this August 2021 for more friendly fun as participants get to earn exciting Skechers rewards and join in a lucky draw to win the grand prize of the event.

This year’s Walk will be held between 2 to 22 August 2021, during which participants can accumulate steps on their fitness tracker or device to reach different step goals across the two- week period. A good way to stay active even as we are staying home more often these days, and to be able to explore our city’s corners.

“A yearly event that brings the Skechers family and the community together, we are excited that the Skechers Friendship Walk is continuing into this year. The virtual format we have adopted since last year has allowed more flexibility, as participants can join with their friends and family even though they may be physically apart. First held in Singapore in 2018, the Skechers Friendship Walk was transformed into an online Walk format last year, where more than 12,000 participants joined in to track their walk distance in a two-week event. Many also posted moments of their walk with friends and family, exploring their neighbourhood or even scenic and nature trails around Singapore. - more -

As part of the event, there will be attractive Skechers rewards up for grabs, with all participants receiving an exclusive voucher upon sign-up for 30% off GOwalk footwear, Skechers’ signature walking shoe series. By attaining the step count in at least one category, there will also be a ‘Buy 1 Get 1 Free’ voucher when you complete the Walk! With the first category beginning at 50,000 accumulative steps (or 2,380 steps/day), all casual runners and walking enthusiasts will be able to take part, even if it’s just a short daily stroll around your community with family members our neighbours.

Skechers Pledges $1 With Every Sign-Up for APSN Beneficiaries

Skechers continues its long-term partnership with the APSN, a social service agency which provides special education for individuals with mild intellectual disabilities. Having partnered with APSN for the 2019 edition of the Skechers Friendship Walk, and in 2020 for its Apprenticeship Programme, Skechers is honoured to contribute to the community for this event.

In support of the organisation, Skechers will donate $1 to APSN with every participant registration for the Skechers Friendship Walk 2021. The total amount donated will be used in purchasing shoes for APSN special needs beneficiaries.
